HONG KONG, CHINA
We had a very foggy rainy day. As we came close to Hong Kong there were little islands popping out of the fog. They were pretty but there was so much fog, pictures did not show them. They barely showed the many buildings as we entered the harbor.
We did get docked at 4:00 PM as advertised. We are docked at a huge shopping center. Most any upscale store can be found here and a lot more. This place is huge and you never have to walk outside.
Shortly after docking, we went for a walk in the center. We looked at some binoculars and cameras and found Dan Ryan’s Chicago Grill. One thing we have not had in a long time was real Chicago style ribs. They are the kind you chew off the bones, not the boiled ones that fall off the bones. We did have dinner there. It was so so. The onion rings were good and plentiful. The French fries were pretty good but not as good as those in the ship. The Cole slaw was just okay. The BBQ sauce was good. The ribs were not great. Bobbi’s were better. They were solid and juicy. Mine were dry and too soft but eatable. Prices were ridiculous. A slab and one half of back ribs, one beer and one Coke lite, and an order of onion rings came to $70.70 US with an already added on 10% service charge. A year ago we had a huge Chinese dinner for $6.50 each.
We walked around a little bit more, after dinner, until our legs were calling for a mutiny. We walked back and decided a little entertainment with a drink or two was a better idea.
