AT SEA EN ROUTE TO COCHIN, INDIA

Nothing new to report except maybe the sea. We are headed almost straight west out into the ocean for the first of three days without a port. The ocean is almost dead flat and all of sudden, with no wind, there are waves very close together. Sometimes they are large enough to feel if you look for them. It feels a little like a car tire out of balance. We pass them and then there are others moving in different directions. It seems very strange to me, but at this mornings usual 9:00 AM talk, by the captain, he said this was an area known for unusual currents in the waters. He also said that different fish, like tuna, and whales seem to like the fast moving water and can often be seen. We saw none today.
