CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA DAY III
We pulled away from the dock at 1:30 this afternoon. This morning Bobbi went shopping at the center right behind the ship again while I got my last shower without being the ball in the pinball machine. Last one for awhile, any how, that is.
We are going around the Cape at about 3:00 this afternoon. There are usually large swells where the Indian Ocean Meets the South Atlantic. The captain has asked everyone to stow anything that could go flying. At about 2:00 it did start to rock the ship from front to rear, bow to stern for you old salts. That was it. The big terrible waves never came.
We had dinner with the Paterson's in the Veranda restaurant this evening. They are the representatives for Virtuoso. They had been on last year’s world cruise also. Very nice people.
As we cruised along the very mountainous coast was clearly visible and outstanding. I’ve included some photos of leaving the city and of the very south point of the Cape of Good Hope. Some are very high telephoto. These were hard to get, without blurring, on a ship that is rocking badly from large rolling waves.
The Bears winning the Super Bowl is supposed to be on our room TV live, starting at 1:30 this morning. The game will also be shown in the conference room where there will be a Super Bowl pajama party.
